What Is Pulsatile Tinnitus

As you can make out the pulsatile tinnitus is a kind of tinnitus in which you hear rhythmical noise that beats in tune with your pulse. You will get to hear single or Multiple rhythmic beats and it can be either low pitched humping sound or a high pitched Clicking noise. Pulsatile tinnitus can be caused due to raised blood pressure, globe shaped tumor, a defect of a vein or artery and heart murmur. There are a few effective treatments for pulsatile tinnitus.

Pulsatile tinnitus can also be caused due to change of blood flow in the large arteries and veins in the neck region, base of the skull region or the blood vessels inside the ears.

Some of the other causes of pulsatile tinnitus are as follows

Due to the unusual group of arteries and veins in the auditory nerve within the cranial hole.

Due to severe head stress the big artery and venous pool within the cranial hole gets abnormally connected, this can also cause pulsatile tinnitus.

Due to infection of the middle ear the blood flow increases to the tissues and this May cause chronic swelling of the tissues. Many people going through it can really hear the increased blood flow in their ears.

The middle ear part is stuffed with air but when some infection or soreness of the middle ear occurs then fluid gets amassed behind the middle ear and this is what result in pulsatile tinnitus.

In case the globe shaped growths are present in the middle ear then it can also cause pulsatile tinnitus and the only way to cure it is by surgery.

Treatment For Pulsatile Tinnitus -

Depending upon the cause behind pulsatile tinnitus, the treatment is decided. The blocked arteries can be opened with the help of surgery while the high blood pressure can be treated with medicine.
